I like Naughty art so I'm making some
Hi, I'm Midnight and this is where I'll be hosting my comics and related artwork. I'm working on a comic book series about a superhero sex worker named Star and overtime, you'll find a variety of artwork and stories focused on different characters with different experiences that are centered around sex work. I am not a sex worker myself, but I've always found this industry and the people in it fascinating and the inspiration behind the artwork you'll find here is the simple premise that sex work is work, and sex workers are people deserving of the same rights, digity and compassion any other person in the world is entitled to (and to be even more honest, they're some of the coolest all around human beings I know). And as I developed some ideas on this comic book, I realized I didn't want to do it without having the blessing or input from actual sex workers. So each comic I make here was created with input and feedback from people with real world experience. I mention this not to convince you that my work is the most authentic representation of sex work - it's not, these stories are fiction - but rather to encourage you to do what I believe we all should do when we want to understand real people's experiences - listen to them. So while I start from a fictional fantasy (superhero) premise, I might also overtime mix in a lot of stories inspired directly by real people. As I work through this project, I'm sure some plans will change and ideas will evolve, but the inspiration behind it will remain the same.
Right now, I'm focused on making spotlight comics - short stories about individual characters who are meant to be part of the same fictional world. Eventually, I plan to work on and of course release the first issue of my main comic book Star that will focus on the title character but also feature a variety of characters, some who will have appeared in spotlight stories beforehand, and some who won't. I really enjoy long-form storytelling and the main Star book will be more along those lines. But as I was juggling a lot of ideas I realized it might help to start simpler and go with short stories to start with, and then build out the world further. Eventually, I will likely ask for you to support the work financially if you are enjoying what I put out and would like to continue my doing it, but there will always be some* content you can check out for free here, as I don't want the work as whole to be gated only to those with more financial flexibility. So I hope you like what you see, and feel free to reach out to me via social media, I don't bite.
